VIETNAM  WAR  POETRY

Hanh Chau

Voices

Silence creeps in the dark
midnight hour sees
the crisis stage of war

Tragedy takes place
the loss of lives is faced
shattered dreams

Memory is painted in the mind
a vivid image of a battle scene
the outburst of rage

Echoes of a siren resonate
in deep fearful thought
a mourning sign

To find solace in peace
to search for a prayer
come to rescue

With the awakening call
take action to cease
all fighting, all war
